As a kid, my family would say, “Dress properly. Don’t stand out.”
At school, teachers reminded me, “Keep it simple. Don’t try to be flashy.”
Even my friends would joke, “Trendy stuff isn’t really your thing.”

So, I listened. I wore plaid shirts, thick-rimmed glasses, and played the role of a “normal person.” But every time I looked in the mirror, I felt like a stranger. My heart was like a tightly sealed soda can, brimming with emotions, yet held back by a lid. Over time, I forgot what I truly wanted.

One day, I decided to stop holding back. I gathered my courage, put on something I loved, and stood in front of the mirror. For the first time, I saw a confident, vibrant, and authentic version of myself. That’s when I realized: We don’t exist to meet anyone else’s expectations. We exist to be ourselves.
